oh that's right...love...
i've come to the conclusion, that once we lose a love we store those thoughts and feelings way back in the back of our heart...and then when someone else comes along to love, our old feelings on love are so deeply buried that we don't recall "ever feeling anything like this before"...even though we really have. it's like...i love sam...i can honestly say that i love her in a way that i don't recall ever feeling before...but who knows, i probably loved paul or elly or whoever in a similar way - i just don't remember. life..and love..is funny like that.
i read "wuthering heights" in high school...and at the time i didn't really like the story - but one line always stood out in my mind
"...my love is like foliage in the woods....time will change it as winter changes the trees..."
looking back, now i know exactly what Bronte was getting at...love, no matter how great it is at the time, will always change...and this is something that i'm really beginning to appreciate.
