i had my orientation shift at the prison the other day..and it was awsome...apart from being glad to be back in such a fantastic environment (cuz really, this aged care business sucks ass), they are really keen to train me and make me part of the team.
towards the end of orientation the trainer guy told me it was uniform sizing time..and given how much my hospital shirt alone cost, i was hating to think of how i was going to pay for this uniform..but it was all for free...3 shirts and pairs of pants...2 vests (one wollen and one cotton)...2 belts..a pair of blundstone shoes..some scarves..a blue akubra hat thingy..and a great big ol flight jacket for the cold weather - and i am only a casual staff member!! fark me...had i had to pay for all that, it would have been at least $800..so yeah...am glad to be working for a nice company with lotsa money that doesn't treat it's employee's like dirt (like the aforementioned hospital)..
so yeah..
tomorrow is my first official shift out there...6am start...and leaving early because i need to be in melbourne tomorrow nite for the ani concert!!!...
as much as i love ani..i'm not as excited as i once was becasue...well...the grrl is not coming with me. not that i don't want linda to come with me..cuz i love linnie's company...but...well..i dunno...maybe i'm just too tired to be excited.

speaking of the grrl...we have been sms'ing and calling and emailing and chatting..and i dunno what in the fark is happening between us. i dunno whether she is making an effort because she has finally realised i am the best thing, ever...or if i am just hoping on sometihng that isn't there..either way, i've not been seeming to keen...and if anything, she probably thinks i am more disinterested than anything..only because i seem to get terribly let down if i get my hopes up...but yeah..
