we all went out for a nice family dinner tonite...well...it was supposed to be..
after a few nights of eating oh-so-not-the-best meals...we headed for a nice little pub hidden in the older part of north hobart...it was a quaint little place...built in 1895...restorded over the years...yadda yadda yadda...
anyway...pog, being his normal, talkative self was yakking to what i thought was just a bored bar-maid..
he said a few things to her...asking about local weather and fishing spots...and he was unusually polite and sounded like quite the little gentleman...and she was simply unresponsive. i put this down to her just not being interested in the incessant ramblings of a 10 year old...until he asked her for a glass of water. to which she snapped "the only water we have is what we sell in bottles"...i let that slide...even though i was tempted to snatch the money back from her and tell her we'll eat elsewhere...but we were all hungry so i let it go.
then throughout dinner she snarled at rob for somethng (i didn't make out what was said)...and towards the end of our meal he went up to the bar and asked if they had any bread (which, afterall, is customary for aussie pubs)...to which the rude bitch snapped "what do you think this is?"...
umm...hello...i think it's somewhere where i just payed $50...so a few slices of bread wouldn't go astray..
but i let it slide (cuz i really wanted to finish my own meal)...and just motioned for pog to bite his tongue (looking back, i shouldn't have)
and to top it all off...before we finished our meals, mum asked for something as the chick wandered past to the kitchen, and she totally ignored us. i'm not talking "didn't hear us" kind of ignorance...i'm talking "looked-at-mum-and-just-didn't-respond" ignorance...which is something that i couldn't let slide.
so once i knew we were all done..mum and i let her have it..and i do believe that we both called her a "sour cunt" several times through out our parting..
i swear...i have never ever seen someone so rude working in a pub...or anywhere that deals with people...i even left a nice little note for the manager (on his lovely cotton napkin...hehehe) saying:
