well today was my first day of clinicals on the gastro ward, and it was no where near as ghastly as i was expecting it to be.
the girls that i'm there with are just great, and our clinical supervisor is pretty down-to-earth and laid back, so i think that the next 2 weeks are going to be pretty good...the only thing that i'm really not looking forward to are the 7am starts *ugh*..but i only have 7 early morning starts over the next 2 weeks, so i should be able to manage.
we actually didn't do much today (started at 8:30am, and finished at 2, and i'm absolutely exhausted..so i can only imagine how i'm going to feel tomorrow after a 7am start, and a full-on day of running around after sick people. don't really know why i'm whinging though - coz millions of nurses do this stuff everyday..
tomorrow is the grrlies 26th birthday, and as much as i'd love both of us to stay home and celebrate all day long, we've decided to take wednesday off, instead..hahaha..i'm so bad- i only have a 2 week placement and already i'm planning days off..but i figure, i've had about 3 days off all up in my entire time as a nusing student - so if i wanna take a day off to spend with my grrl, then i'm going to goddamnit!..not only that, but it's not as if we're getting paid for this..so yeah..
