so one whole year ago tomorrow, the city of new york shook, and the peace of the world began to crumble.
a lot has gone on over the last 12 months, but not enough time will ever pass to erase the events of september 11, 2001...

i remember my first trip to new york city...i was so excited..i'd been staying in upstate new york (rhinebeck) with some friends, and one morning they drove me to a train station so that i could catch the 6am train into the big beautiful apple...
they were gonna drive me all the way in to the city, but i really wanted to take the train in, because i wanted to listen to the conductors call out the names of the upcoming stations *laughing*..i know it sounds silly, but i wanted to hear a real live yankee call out "yonkers"...*shaking my head*.. so finally, after what seemed like the longest train ride, i arrived @ grand central station...and i swear, i got lost before i even got off the train.
ya know, when you grow up in a city the size of melbourne, it's really hard to grasp how huge NYC really is, but the great expanse of the city was breathtaking...

i dunno why i'm writing this...but tonite, while watching all of the 9/11 specials, i couldn't help but think about the few fun filled days that i spent in that great city...i also couldn't help but think that how, if i ever went back, the city wouldn't be the same as how it was the first time i was there.

again..i dunno why i'm writing this..i also hope my new layout doesn't offend anyone - it's not mean't to be tacky or anything...but it probably is...

i think i'll change it back in the morning..
